Limited Submissions and Opportunities

Some funding opportunities are "limited submissions," meaning the funder sets a limit on the number of grant 建议 that can be submitted by the university within a given period of time. The RESEARCH处 coordinates limited submissions to ensure researchers do not invest time developing 建议 that cannot be submitted. 教师 members who are interested in grant programs with limited submissions must contact the RESEARCH处 at limitedsubmissions@eagle1027.com.

When researchers within the same college express interest in a limited submission, the RESEARCH处 will involve the dean of that college in decision-making; however, if researchers from more than one college are involved, the RESEARCH处 determines which proposal(s) will go forward, typically by holding an internal competition.

Potential applicants to limited submissions are asked to submit concept papers based on specific guidelines for that program.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has a list of limited submissions, which can be viewed by due date, title, or solicitation number.

Center for Innovative 技术 (CIT) Commonwealth RESEARCH Commercialization Fund

Jeffress Trust Awards Program in Interdisciplinary RESEARCH

• 最后期限: Typically in early January; 2017 deadline to be announced.

National Science Foundation Major RESEARCH Instrumentation Program (MRI)

• ODU可以提交 (or be included as a sub-awardee) on up to three MRI 建议.
• If ODU submits/collaborates on three 建议, there is a limit of two Acquisition 建议; one must be a Development proposal.
• Unfunded collaborations do not count against the institutional submission limit.
• Separately submitted linked collaborative 建议 of either type (Acquisition or Development) count against the submission limit of each of the submitting organizations. 然而, if a collaborator receives a sub-award that is 20% or less of a Development proposal budget request, the sub-awardee's submission limit will not be affected.
• There are no restrictions or limits on the number of 建议 per PI or Co-PI.
